WALKER, Mich. (WZZM)-Black Friday is still six days away, but that's not stopping two die hard shoppers from lining up for the deals.
Lynda Straight and her daughter set up their tent outside the Best Buy on Alpine Avenue NW at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. They've been planning the stakeout for weeks. Straight says she wanted to camp out extra early this year after narrowly missing out on a Black Friday deal last year.
"I was so upset because I wanted that TV so bad. I told my daughter 'next year, I will be first in line,'" says Straight.
"Everybody's been walking through saying they think we're crazy but it's good fun," adds her daughter, Valerie Straight.
The Straight family plans to buy a $180 TV that normally sells for $500.
A Best Buy manager believes they may have set a state record for earliest Black Friday shoppers to line up outside a Best Buy store.
