GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The president of Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Schools (GRCSS) will be leaving at the end of January.
Thomas M. Maj gave his notice to the Diocese of Grand Rapids. He has accepted a position as president of Central Catholic High School in the Diocese of Toledo.
Maj has been the chief executive officer for Grand Rapids Catholic Central and West Catholic High Schools for three years.
"It's been a privilege to work with the parents, students, teachers, staff and board members in Grand Rapids and I'm proud of the accomplishments we've made during my time here," said Maj in a press release. "I'm excited for this new challenge in Toledo and look forward to this great opportunity to advance Catholic education."
The Diocese of Grand Rapids will begin a nationwide search for Maj's replacement after studying how best to move forward. In the interim, both high schools will be overseen by the GRCSS Board with assistance from David Faber, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese.
