MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM)- Four high school football teams from West Michigan are spending their Thanksgiving weekend in Detroit.
Thursday, fans lined the street outside Muskegon High School to cheer on the Big Reds as they left for Ford Field. The team also had a police escort. Muskegon faces Birmingham Brother Rice 1 p.m. Saturday. Big Red fans say whatever happens, they're proud of their team.
"This group of kids is just a great group of kids that really deserves this," says Bradley Young, president of the Big Red Athletic Foundation.
Carol Kruzona's grandson is on the team.
"They've all worked so hard to get to today, and I just keep telling my grandson, 'follow your dreams because dreams do come true," she says.
West Catholic, South Christian and Grand Rapids Christian high schools are also in the state finals.
