GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- For WZZM 13's Made in Michigan we head to Terryberry's Factory where everything is made by hand.
Terryberry's goal is to push a company's agenda forward with positive re-enforcement.
Dave Beemer, Chief Operating Officer of Terryberry says they ask some simple questions: "What is the company trying to incentivize? What are they trying to reward the employees for? We'll design the program and we'll take and replicate their logo, to customize the rewards we set up for them. That's the start of the process."
If a company's goal is to increase sales, Terryberry creates a program and rewards top performers. The high end award is then designed and produced at Terryberry.
What's surprising is every step of the process is produced by hand, including the drawing, cutting, polishing, and shipping.
Beemer says, "Each of the rings we manufacture here are made for one individual person, for John Smith, with John Smith's name is on the side, from start to finish it's for one single person."
Terryberry has been a detail oriented company since it first opened in 1918.
