I'Esha Hayes receives a refurbished van from Family Promise and its partners.
KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) -- A young woman, in need of transportation for herself and her son, has a new ride.
Workers from Hansen Collision repaired and refurbished a damaged van and presented it to I'Esha Hayes this morning .
Hayes works multiple jobs to make ends meet, all while suffering from an arthritic condition that requires frequent trips to the doctor.
"It just opened up a whole new door for me," Hayes says. "I can do this myself now. This is all me. I don't have to depend on anybody."
Family Promise, an organization that works with families in crisis, worked with Progressive Insurance and Hansen Collision on the project. Family Promise identified Hayes as a recipient for the give-away program.
