Workers lower Walker's city time capsule, to be opened in 2062.
WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) -- Several WZZM 13 collectibles are among the items buried underground for the next 50 years.
Walker city officials, along with workers from Grand Valley Concrete, lowered the capsule into its resting place Tuesday afternoon.
The capsule was buried between the entrance to the department of public works and the entrance of Walker city hall.
Walker, like WZZM 13, is also celebrating its 50th anniversary.
"Whoever is working here in 2062 will pull this up and open it and hopefully they'll find it very interesting," says Walker city council member Al Parent. "They'll see the things that were popular or being used equipment-wise in 2012."
A WZZM 13 Weatherball history envelope and a 50th anniversary lamppost banner are among the WZZM 13 items included in the time capsule.
