Christmas lights at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The daughter of the late President Gerald R. Ford helped his hometown usher in the holiday season Thursday night.
Susan Ford Bales took part in the Christmas lighting ceremony outside the Ford Presidential Museum.
The Salvation Army band and a group of carolers provided festive music as organizers lit up the display along the Grand River.
"Having so many people come out on a cold night in the dark, and the "oohs" and "ahs" when the lights go on, it's really a thrill," says Elaine Didier, director of the Gerald R. Ford Library & Presidential Museum.
The display will remain up through through January 2.
