GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Do not be alarmed if you hear the sirens go off at Rogers, Hardy and Croton dams next Tuesday, December 11th.
Consumers Energy will be conducting siren tests that day at 11:00 a.m. Such tests are conducted every August and December.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requires hydroelectric facilities to notify residents and visitors quickly if there is any emergency at the plants.
The test will involve a voice message, a 30-second siren and a second voice message.
In the event of a real emergency at a hydroelectric dam, you should evacuate to high ground immediately.
