BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM)- A woman is recovering from her injuries after she says her husband stabbed her in the neck Saturday evening.

Big Rapids public safety officers responded to a call just after 5 p.m. in the 300 block of Rust Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, they found the 40-year-old suspect on the front porch. He was apprehended at the scene.

Authorities say the female victim had a stab wound in her neck 1 to 3 inches deep, missing her spine.

The suspect is now in jail for assault and for a sex offender violation.

The victim is recovering at the Mecosta County Medical Center.
