Ford keepsakes for auction

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM)-  In collaboration with The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, Heritage Auctions will be selling 51 of Gerald and Betty Ford's family keepsakes on Dec. 11th and 12th, beginning at 11 a.m. 

The auction is being held at HA's Dallas, Texas headquarters, and online at Proceeds from the auction will support construction of a new student learning center at the Gerald R. Ford Museum.

Joe Calvaruso, the president of the Gerald R. Ford Foundation says, "The idea behind this is to create curriculum and interactive items for young adults to participate in and that will embrace President Ford's integrity, his character and love for public service like Mrs. Ford who was dedicated to causes throughout her whole life."

"Some of the items up for bid include an 8 x 10 signed, color copy of Presidents George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Richard Nixon; and the 5' x 9.5' nylon flag that flew over the White House on the last day of President Gerald Ford's Presidency, and President Ford's personal golf clubs.
