WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM)- The Human Society is sending its praise to Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming for participating in an international movement called "Meatless Monday."
Metro Health is now providing more vegetarian options on Mondays, and the hospital is doing its part to educate the community about the health benefits in eating meat-less meals.
Meatless Monday was orginally created during World War I as a resource-saving measure. In 2003, the movement was re-vamped by John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as an effort to promote healthy living as well as sustainability.
You can sign-up for weekly vegetarian recipes at the Humane Society website.
