LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- President Barack Obama won Michigan in the November election. Now it becomes official.
The state's 16 electoral votes will be formally cast Monday for Obama and Vice President Joe Biden during a 2 p.m. event in the Michigan Senate. Gretchen Whitmer of East Lansing, the Senate's Democratic leader, will preside over the session.
Obama got 54 percent of the Michigan vote, easily defeating Republican Mitt Romney.
