GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - Our station was given a little surprise by a viewer who is coping with the Sandy Hook tragedy in a positive way, by giving back to her neighbors.
Monday, a mystery woman dropped off four dozen donuts to the station as part of 26 random acts of kindness she is doing in honor of the 26 people who died at Sandy Hook Elementary on Friday.
We wish we could thank this woman for the snack, but she did not leave her name. Instead, we decided to pass her idea along to you. The way she did it, was by including a slip of paper letting us know we were random act number six. Underneath, the names of the 26 victims were printed.
We asked for ideas of simple acts of kindness on Facebook and Twitter, where we found these:
- Scrape ice and snow off of other windshields
- Tip the waiter $20
- Donate blood
- Complement a stranger
Please share your ideas with us. You can also tweet to #WZZM26Acts. If you will be doing these 26 acts, please take a few pictures or a little video of your deeds in action and email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
