WASHINGTON, D.C. (By Brett Molina, USA TODAY) - Zynga has reportedly started shutting down several titles as part of a plan to cut costs at the struggling online social games company.

According to TechCrunch, games such as PetVille and Mafia Wars 2 will no longer be available as of today, while others were shut down earlier this month.

The move is part of a broader cost-cutting plan revealed last October, which involved shutting down 13 Zynga titles and cut its investment in social title The Ville.

The company also announced it was cutting 5% of its full-time workforce, a first for Zynga. Its stock was up 2.36% during mid-morning trading on the NASDAQ.
