(WZZM) - So your News Year's resolution is to get fit... great! But what if you don't like going to the gym? Here are some alternatives to the typical fitness center.

Our first gym alternative is hot yoga. Just like the name suggests, it is yoga but in a hot room. A good 90 minute workout can burn up to 668 calories. If you want to check it out you can drop in for a class at the Funky Buddha Yoga Hothouse for $18.

Want something more competitive? The Grand Rapids Sport & Social Club offers a lot of activities including an adult dodgeball league. A 60 min game can burn up 300 calories. The cost is $60 for an eight week season.

Something new in town is Skyzone Grand Rapids, a trampoline park. It offers special Skyrobics classes which involves many different exercises on many trampolines. A vigorous fitness class, the website says, burns up to 1,000 calories. A 10 week fitness class is $99.

Want something to do with a partner?. Salsa dance classes will get you moving, and if you step it up you can burn 400 calories per hour. Check out Salsalogy Dance Academy for more information.

Need to get some aggression out? Frank's Knockout Fitness will teach you how to punch your way to fitness. If you hit the bag you can burn up to 900 calories. A twice a week 8 week session costs $180.

There are lots of alternatives to the gym so you should be able to find something that can keep you in shape.
