WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two men are now charged in connection with the robbery of a Wyoming cash advance business.
Patrick Grover, 28, of Lowell, and Jevante Walker, 20, of Grand Rapids, were formally charged Wednesday with armed robery. Grover is also charged with fleeing and eluding police.
Wyoming Police say they are responsible for the hold-up at the Advance America Cash Advance store in the 4100 block of South Division Avenue. Officers say one of the suspects, seen with what appeared to be a gun in his waistband, demanded cash, then got into a car and drove away with the money.
Officers responding to the call spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one used in the robbery. The suspects led police on a chase, then jumped out of the car at 48th Street and Eastern Avenue SE and began running away. Police were able to arrest the two men after a brief pursuit.
Grover has an extensive criminal record, prior convictions for armed robbery, home invasion, and theft. He was paroled from prison in September following a nine-year sentence on prior charges.
