NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) - Two suspects in a double murder are back in Newaygo County after being extradited from Texas.

Meshell Grant, 32, and Chad Wilkinson, 35, are being held at the Newaygo County Jail.  Grant is being held on a probation violation and Wilkinson is being held on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Neither have been charged in the murders of Joe Cherneski and  Patty Vandyk that took place in November, but they have been questioned in the unsolved case.  They were arrested in Texas on December 15th on outstanding charges in Michigan.

VanDyk's son, Buddy, spoke to WZZM 13 after the murders, speculating the medications his mother and her boyfriend needed for their health problems may have been the motive behind the killings.
