The American Pets Products Association reports 53 percent of dog owners and 38 percent of cat owners plan to stick something under the tree for their pet this Christmas.

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Americans are treating our pets more and more like people.

The American Pet Products Association found spending was up 5.3% for 2012, bringing the total spent on pets across the country to $52 billion.
