UPDATE AT 3:45 P.M. (WZZM) - Grand Rapids Police have identified the shooting victim as Gregory J. Woods, 18. Woods would have turned 19 years old later this month.
UPDATE AT 10:50 P.M. (WZZM) -- Grand Rapids Police say a teenage shooting victim has died after he was shot while answering his door.
The male victim was in surgery at a Grand Rapids hospital, but police say he died late tonight from his injuries.
UPDATE AT 8:25 P.M. (WZZM) -- A 19-year-old man is in surgery after he was shot at his southeast Grand Rapids home.
It happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 700 block of Neland Avenue SE.
Police say the victim answered a knock at the door and was shot. His family put him in their vehicle and drive him to the hospital.
Family members called OnStar for help in the car, and OnStar operators informed police of the shooting.
Officers say the teenager is in critical condition at a Grand Rapids hospital.
Police say shots were fired at the teenager's home on Saturday, but there were no arrests and no one was injured.
Police are searching for a vehicle seen in the area around the time of the shooting, though they are not offering many details on the description.
