Two arrested in Alpine gaming store robbery

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - UPDATE (Jan. 9, 2012 5:05pm): The Kent County Sheriff's Department reports that two suspects are in custody, accused of robbing the Play N Trade store in Comstock Park Tuesday night, but two suspects are still at large.

Detectives say three gunmen walked into the store on Alpine Drive, ordered the victims to the ground, and then stole various items from the store.

A Grand Rapids Police K-9 led Sheriff's Deputies to York Creek Apartments where the officers recovered some of the stolen property.

Detectives say a Silent Observer tip led to one of the one suspects' arrest.  So far, detectives have not identified the two people in custody.

(Jan. 8, 2012 10:20pm) Kent County Sheriff's deputies used a K-9 unit to try and track three people who held up an Alpine Avenue business Tuesday night.

Around 8:40 p.m. authorities say three people walked into the the Play N Trade store near Alpenhorn Dr. NW and robbed an employee at gunpoint.

The suspects ran toward nearby York Creek Apartments. The neighborhood was sealed off, but deputies have not located the bandits.

No one was hurt in the robbery.
