HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - The Holland Department of Public Safety is investigating a suspicious situation involving a man trying to intice a 7-year-old boy to come to his car.
The incident happened around 3:00pm Tuesday in the area of 19th Street and VanRaalte Avenue in Holland.
Investigators say that a 7-year-old boy was dropped off at his home in the 300 block of West 19th Street and then he started walking to the Boys and Girls Club which is nearby.
While walking, a blue Pontiac, possibly a Grand Am or a Grand Prix, pulled up next to him. The driver put the window down part way and made a motion to the boy to come to him. When the boy did not, the driver called out the boy's name.
The boy's aunt, who was also just leaving the residence in a vehicle saw what was happening. The boy looked at his aunt who yelled to him to run to the Boys and Girls Club, which he did.
The driver then left the area. Both the boy and the aunt told police they did not recognize the suspect or the vehicle. The intentions of the suspect and how he knew the boy's name are unknown.
The suspect is described as a light skin black male or Hispanic male, approximately 20 years old, wearing a black baseball cap and was smoking in the vehicle.
