GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - An Allendale man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for falsely reporting plots to bomb the Gerald R. Ford Federal Building in Grand Rapids and the Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert.

Anthony Mario Fortuna, 36, was sentenced Monday.  He pleaded guilty to the charges in September 2012.

Investigators say that Fortuna made his first false reports in February of 2010, when he reported a fictitious plot by others to blow up the Ford Building in retaliation for a Federal case that was in progress at the time.  Four months later, Fortuna called the FBI with a plot against the Palisades Nuclear Plant that was proven to be untrue.

Fortuna had also been previously convicted in Alabama for lying to the FBI about a murder-for-hire plot.
