HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) A report of an attempted abduction in Holland on Tuesday turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.
After the report aired in the media, a man came forward to police believing that he was the suspect they were looking for. He told police he was bringing his son home when he noticed the 7-year-old boy walking without a winter coat. He thought the boy was a relative and called to him. When the boy didn't respond, he pulled in front of the boy to make sure he heard him and that he was ok. He also noticed an adult woman nearby who seemed to know the boy, so he left the area. The woman contacted police.
Police believe the man had no intention of hurting the boy and the case was simply mistaken identity.
