Madeline and Hannah sing the praises of self-serve frozen yogurt
(WZZM) - Here's a new way you can stick to your New Year's diet, but indulge too. Several self-serve frozen yogurt shops have been popping up around town the last year or so, so we sent WZZM 13's Madeline Segura and Hannah Saunders to give us a little tour and try them out.
They stopped at F.Y.I. in Jenison, Sweet Yo's in Grand Rapids, and Spoonlickers in Eastown. All were pretty similar - you grab a cup, choose from 8-20 flavors of frozen yogurt, then add whatever toppings you want. Topping options range from fresh fruit, to candy pieces, to cereal.
Then, you have your concoction weighed and are charged by the ounce. Every place cost .49 per ounce.
We're told by these shops to expect many more of these stores to be opening up within the next year; starting in the Spring.
We did not make it out to Bloop frozen yogurt, also in Grand Rapids, but their shop had a similar set up and we thank them for providing the supplies for our morning demonstration!
