GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-Although they are not facing federal requirements to become more gas efficient, recreational vehicles are getting greener.
The new 2013 Road Track E-Track is one of the green machines at the Grand Rapids Camper, Travel & RV show this weekend. The E-Track features a 5,000 watt inverter, which transfers batter power over to electricity, and solar panels that recharge those batteries.
The sales manager for American RV says the E-Track is worth its $120,000 price tag.
"You're actually saving an immense amount of money because you're not necessarily having to go to the campground. You can pull up to a beautiful lakeshore setting," said sales manager John Monterusso. "I can be in the middle of nowhere and I've got full power for everything without the need of a generator, without the need of being plugged in."
The E-Track does have a backup generator in its engine compartment. The Grand Rapids Camper, Travel & RV Show runs through 6 p.m. Sunday.
