WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) - The Humane Society of West Michigan is constantly seeking new homes for unwanted pets, but now it's looking for a family for a pig.

Penny is a nine-month-old miniature pot-bellied pig. Her owners had some housing problems and had to give her up for adoption.

Penny should get up to 65 pounds as long as she's not over-fed. And anyone interested in her should know she's an indoor pig.

"They would obviously need adequate space for her. She is very smart and easy to train, so they can train her to be housebroken," says Nicole Cook of the Humane Society. "They're pretty social pets. As long as your feeding them and being healthy, they are pretty self-sustaining."

The Humane Society of West Michigan will begin allowing Penny to meet potential families Friday.
