WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) -- Winter weather is causing some hazardous conditions with Monday morning's commute.

The overnight mix of sleet and freezing rain has left the roads a sheet of ice in some places and in other places, that are not quite as bad, it is still hard to get good traction

Today is definitely a day you want to put all of your winter driving skills to use.

Police around West Michigan say they are seeing their fair share of crashes because of slick roads. One in Walker at Alpine and 3 Mile knocked out power to 1,700 customers Sunday evening. No one was hurt in that crash and power was restored about an hour later.

If you are traveling this morning take it slow and be very careful.
