(DETROIT FREE PRESS) - Well, this should make all of those anonymous NFL folks rethink the mean things they said about Ndamukong Suh!

The Detroit Lions' spotlight-stealing defensive tackle is credited with saving comedian and fellow "Splash" contestant Louie Anderson during a diving-practice mishap last week, according to TMZ.

Suh and Anderson are contestants on "Splash," a celebrity-diving show that will air this spring on ABC.

TMZ says that Anderson was practicing his dives Wednesday when he became exhausted and couldn't lift himself out of the pool. After Anderson "nearly sank," Suh and erstwhile Olympic diver Greg Louganis had to physically lift him out -- which can't be an easy task, if we do say so ourselves.

Anderson was coughing up water for a few second but was fine otherwise.

Meanwhile, we wonder whether Lions coach Jim Schwartz still isn't concerned about his big guy getting hurt.
