Christina Aguilera sings the national anthem at the superbowl, but messes up a line

Grand Rapids - (WZZM) - It's performed at every Super Bowl and major sporting event, but how much do you know about our national anthem.  We went to GVSU for some Star Spangled facts... or in most cases Star Spangled failures.  Watch the video for more. 

Some facts about the Star Spangled Banner

  • The Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key in 1814.
  • The tune is based on a British drinking song, "To Anacreon in Heaven."
  • Key's original poem had four verses.
  • The Star Spangled Banner didn't become the national anthem of the United States till 1931.
  • The songs first performance at a sporting event was the 1918 World Series.
  • The first verse contains three questions.
  • The Star Spangled Banner flag which inspired the poem had 15 stars and 15 stripes.
