Silent Observer solves over 200 cases in 2012

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Silent Observer, a partner with area law enforcement that takes anonymous tips from witnesses of crimes, reports that the helped police solve 201 crimes in 2012.

In their annual report, Silent Observer reports that their tips led to 163 arrests covering all of Kent County.  79 of the cases took place on school campuses.  Over 2,000 tips were called, e-mailed, or texted in to the organization, almost 5% more than in 2011.

Silent Observer reports also that tips led to the arrests of six people responsible for 13 armed robberies at local banks, gas stations and party stores.  A Silent Observer tip also led to the arrest of the man responsible for robbing four motels along 28th Street.
