ALLENDALE, Mich. (WZZM) - Slushy lake effect snow and gusty winds made for challenging driving conditions Monday evening. Local law enforcement reported dozens of accidents on area roads.
A WZZM 13 crew experienced glare ice conditions on 48th Avenue, near Grand Valley State University, where wind-whipped snow froze wet pavement.
There were also multiple slide-offs on Lake Michigan Drive from Allendale to Standale.
The National Weather Service has posted a wind advisory for West Michigan, with winds of 20-30 miles per hour, effective until midnight.
