GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - A man, convicted in the murder of a Walker woman will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Thursday afternoon, Judge Mark Trusock gave Karl Cotton the mandatory life sentence of first degree murder.
In January, a jury found the Benton Harbor man guilty of killing 30-year-old Jamie Powell. She was shot inside her unit at the Old Orchard Apartments on March 5, 2011.
