NEW YORK (WZZM) - After nearly six months away from the anchor desk, Robin Roberts will return to Good Morning America Wednesday.
Roberts has been on medical leave since September while she battles myelodysplastic syndrome or MDS, a rare blood disorder caused by treatment of her breast cancer.
Roberts received a bone marrow transplant from her sister Sally-Ann. The transplant wiped out her immune system and she had to spend some time in sterile isolation during recovery.
A special edition of Good Morning America is planned Wednesday with appearances by the LA Lakers, Christian music performer Mandisa, and the doctors who cared for Robin during her leave of absence.
