GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Habitat for Humanity of Kent County celebrating a milestone Thursday: The completion of its 100th LEED-certified house.

The energy-efficient home is located in the 300 block of Freyling Place SE, in the Wealthy Heights neighborhood.

In its 30 years of existence, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 350 Kent County families with new homes.

"We encourage people all the time to apply, there's never too many people in our program. We have enough homes, and enough work, and enough people to help us build homes to help us serve the families that need quality affordable housing for home ownership opportunities, and we're always looking for more families to partner with us," says Mary Buikema of Habitat For Humanity of Kent County.
