A manager of Longhorn Steakhouse says a burning linen bag is to blame for the fire that forced the restaurant to evacuate.
CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - A burning linen bag is being blamed for a fire that forced a Kent County restaurant to evacuate.
Passersby spotted flames outside the Longhorn Steakhouse on 28th Street SE around 2 p.m. Saturday. The restaurant's manager says the fire was in an open space right outside the restaurant, but patrons were evacuated as Cascade Township firefighters responded.
"It lasted about 30 minutes," said Steve Dalgewicz, who is a managing partner of the restaurant. "We explained the situation and everybody understood what was going on."
Dalgewicz added that the fire was contained and the restaurant planned to continue with its regular daily operations and business.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the linen bag caught fire.
