MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (WZZM) -- Five people were arrested and arraigned for multiple burglaries across West Michigan.
The suspects are linked to crimes in a total of six counties including Kent, Ottawa, and Allegan counties to name a few.
Police say the five suspects stole more than $60,000 worth of tools and trailers. Some are even linked with an assault case.
John Henry Bedford of Grand Rapids, Brian Joseph McCarthy of Evart, Roberty Edward McCarthy of Reed City, and Lynnwood Allen Whitehead were all charged with felonies. One name hasn't been released yet.
The investigation started in January after an Evart auto shop had $60,000 of tools and equipment stolen. The owner contacted police a week later after noticing some suspicious behavior at a residence.
Troopers approached the men and found most of the stolen property. Several trailers were found and two suspects were also connected with an unrelated assault.
Police are still investigating and more arrests could be coming.
