AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WZZM) - Michigan and Michigan State fans heading to The Palace Thursday to watch their teams in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament are advised - leave early.
With snow showers in West Michigan, the staff at The Palace of Auburn Hills and host Oakland University advises that more than 20,000 college basketball fans will be attending the games and you should plan ahead, leave early and use alternate routes.
The Palace parking lot will open at 9:30am Thursday. Fans are being encouraged to us the "Hassle Free" Exit 83 at Joslyn Road as an alternate route or also Exit 81 at Lapeer Road. Fan are also advised to use both North and South Drive entrances to alleviate heavy traffic entering from Lapeer Road.
Fans attending both sessions on Thursday can pay for parking once if they do NOT depart the venue parking lot. Fans who do decide to leave the grounds following the first session will have to pay to park again when returning for the second session.
Parking is $10 per car, $20 per limo and $40 per bus or RV.
