Richard Usher accepted a plea deal in the Russian roulette case Friday.
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- An Ottawa County man is headed to trial for the shooting death of a friend earlier this month.
Authorities say Richard Usher, 18, shot Brandon Kuiper in the face March 6. The two were with a group of four other teenagers, playing Russian roulette in the basement of a house in the 3900 block of Leonard Street in Tallmadge Township.
Kuiper died several days later at the hospital. Police say they found alcohol and drugs at the house.
Usher waived his preliminary examination Thursday in Ottawa County District Court. He faces manslaughter and felony firearms charges and will be arraigned in Ottawa Co. Circuit Court April 1.
Usher is being held in Ottawa County Jail on a $350,000 bond.
