Construction work on 28th Street SE began March 18, 2013.
GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) -- 28th Street is down to one lane in each direction as part of a resurfacing project. It could make for a slow commute. If you're driving on 28th Street you may want to find another route.
MDOT shifted all of the traffic to one side of the road from Patterson to Kraft. The nine million dollar project includes resurfacing and reconstruction. The resurfacing will happen at night near Breton. But the real back ups will be during the day while construction is going on.
While MDOT says expect to tack an extra ten minutes to your morning commute, businesses on 28th Street worry how the back-ups will affect their bottom line.
The project is slated to be complete by late October early November.
