LILLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - Neighbors are shedding light on the compound where three people died Wednesday in an apparent murder suicide.

Charles Hoover is accused of killing his wife and one of his sons, Isaac Hoover.

Neighbors who had visited the Lilley Township home in Newaygo County say the Hoover property included two homes, elevated towers, a loud PA system, a vast food pantry and a unique space inside the barn.

Neighbor Cassie Smith described that space as "Like a bunker for people to spend the end of the world, and food for 30 people for a long time."

Smith also said Hoover was never mean, but Hoover's spiritual talk and preaching was "over the top" for her.

Newaygo County investigators are still trying to make sense of the deaths.  They hope interviews with Hoover's two surviving children and autopsy results will provide insight into the case.
