HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - A 20-year-old man, thought to be a suspect in a bank robbery earlier this week, shot himself in the head at a police stop Thursday morning.
Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies report that they pulled a vehicle over at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday on Butternut Drive near Leisure Estates in Holland. Four people were in the vehicle and three of them cooperated with deputies. The fourth person did not and fired one shot to his own head. He has been taken to the hospital in critical condition. No other shots were fired.
The Macatawa Bank in Holland was robbed on Tuesday afternoon and investigators think that the man who shot himself is a suspect in the robbery.
We'll have more details when they become available.
