GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Religious leaders are teaming up with the state to help keep struggling residents in their home.
Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell joined lawmakers and pastors Monday morning to unveil the Step Forward Michigan Faith Partnership. The new initiative helps at-risk homeowners avoid foreclosure. The program is a free program funded by the federal government to help states hit hardest by foreclosures.
Step Forward Michigan offers up to $30,000 to help eligible homeowners with deliquent taxes, interest and fees.
