OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) -- A woman is in police custody after leading police on a high speed chase Tuesday afternoon.
The chase started in Allegan County where a woman, who is described as being suicidal, fled from police. She drove her vehicle onto U.S. 31 and headed north at speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
Her vehicle ran out of gas at M-40 and U.S. 31 in Holland. She was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
"Speeds reached 120 plus miles per hour, until she came up U.S. 31 and proceeded to run out of gas here, at which time she tried to flee on foot and was taken into custody," says Officer Brian Long with the Saugatuck-Douglas Police Department.
The driver could face charges for fleeing and eluding police, as well as obstructing an officer.
