Robber leaves empty-handed after clerk runs off

WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police say an armed robber came up empty handed at a gas station when the clerk fled out the back door, tripping an alarm.

The robbery attempt happened around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Admiral gas station, located at 3221 S. Division Ave.

Police say the robber pointed a handgun at the employee. The clerk was able to run to a nearby house and call 911.

Authorities say the suspect left without taking anything. He is described as a black male in his mid-20s, 5'7" tall with a medium build, wearing a tan hat and white bandana over his face.
