MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- More than a million Michigan drivers will hit the road for the upcoming Holiday weekend. If you're undecided on your destination, there are a few new attractions on the lakeshore you might want to consider visiting.

Muskegon State Park is a great place to camp or swim, and now the park has a new amenity attracting attention.

It a yurt with room for seven adults. The all season tent has natural light and comfortable sleeping accommodations.

"There is a skylight to look at the stars," says Kevin Klco, an employee at Muskegon State Park, "and hand-made log cedar beds."

The yurt is close to the beach and rents for $60 per night, providing vacationers a new kind of "roughing it."

"During the summer you can use the modern restroom facilities and the hot showers," says Klco.

New at Michigan's Adventure is the Lake Side Gliders, a "flash-back ride" reminiscent of attractions from the 1940s or 50s.

And for the first time ever the park will soon serve alcohol, inside a new beer garden. "Beer, wine, soda, and food. And it is right on the lakeshore. A good place to relax," says Laure Bollenbach.

Summer isn't the same without ice cream. Ted Fricano's new Pinchtown Market at Fricano Place opens each day at 2 p.m., offering top-notch desserts and ice cream.

Ted says the "Fricano's piazzas" is a treat the whole family can split. "It is a giant warm cookie, peanut-butter, gobs of Oreo, four scoops of ice cream, and real whipped cream, not that horrible stuff out of a can."

It's served in a way that honors the Fricano name: In a pizza box.

That's what's new on the lakeshore. Now lets all hope for great weather this Memorial Day weekend.
