RIVERTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a bone found last week in West Michigan has been confirmed to be part of an adult human skull.
The Mason County Sheriff's Department says the bone was among a group of 12 bones found Friday in Riverton Township, near Ludington. The department says a review Wednesday by a forensic anthropologist determined that the other bones found weren't human.
The sheriff's department says the skull fragment had no tissue on it, and was left with the forensic anthropologist for further testing.
The case is under investigation by the sheriff's department.
