GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) - The third annual Grand River Green Up happens this morning after flooding forced it's cancellation back in April.
The community service event is organized by Grand Haven area Jaycees and the West Michigan Environmental Action Council.
This year it's expanding its reach into Spring Lake and Ferrysburg.
In previous years, the Green Up removed nearly 20-thousand pounds of refuse from waterways in Grand Haven and Allendale townships.
Volunteers are asked to check in at the Harbor Island fairgrounds at nine. Buses and walking groups will depart at 9:30 to clean up.
