HASTINGS, Mich. (WZZM)-A West Michigan man suspected in the deaths of his two roommates is taking a plea deal.
Harold Ordway pleaded guilty to second degree murder Wednesday in the deadly shooting of Paul Atchley of Barry County. Atchley disappeared in the summer of 2011. In September 2011, Allegan County deputies found a bloody mattress in the bed of Ordway's pickup truck, following a crash.
The Barry County Prosecutor says as part of his plea deal, Ordway acknowledged he choked and killed a second roommate, Michael VanBuskirk. VanBuskirk's remains were found in Kalamazoo County. The prosecutor says Ordway couldn't be charged in the case because they couldn't determine exactly how VanBuskirk died.
Ordway will be sentenced in July.
