Pedestrian killed in overnight accident

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - UPDATE 8:00 a.m. Grand Rapids Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a fatal accident with a pedestrian.

Investigators say a 45 year old woman was in 28th Street when she was hit by a west bound Life Ambulance, and a second east bound car.   The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene east on 28th Street.

Police are looking for the yellow 1994 Mitsubishi, with Michigan license plates CNP7406.  The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20's to early 30's, 5'8" with a stocky build and short black hair.

The crash remains under investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department Special Services Unit.

 

(WZZM) - Grand Rapids Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident that left one pedestrian dead early Sunday morning.

The woman was killed on 28th Street between Division and Madison just after 2 a.m. Grand Rapids Police say the crash involved an ambulance and a small sedan. The driver of the sedan sped off after the accident.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

28th Street was closed for some time as police investigated, but the street is now back open.
