WYOMING, Mich.-Police are looking for the vandals who caused at least $2,500 in damage to Godfrey Lee Public Schools.
Superintendent David Britten says the suspects broke into the athletic complex around 5 a.m. Sunday. In about 30 minutes, Britten says the vandals busted down an entire garage door, broke out lights, broke into the football press box and damaged the public address system, broke into the baseball press box and stole a flat screen television, and broke windows to an adult education classroom and maintenance utility vehicle.
Police are reviewing surveillance images taken from an alternative education building nearby. Britten says the vandals were driving a pickup truck, but police have no description of the suspects so far.
Although the school district's insurance should cover damage costs, Britten says the repairs will delay Godfrey Lee's maintenance crew from planned summertime projects.
